Flying House is a collective of theatre-makers and performing arts practitioners based in Johannesburg and working in the intersection between education and theatre. They aim to promote sustainability in the arts by supporting both professional and emerging artists and creating innovative income generation opportunities. Flying House as an organisation values the power of the imagination and creativity. Its members emphasize the creation of original work and experiment with a variety of live media, including performances, workshops and experiential learning events.
Workshops and Services
We offer a series of master-classes, courses and workshops in developing theatre-making and performance skills. These include: creative script-writing, collaborative play-making, mime, physical theatre, theatre design, acting, voice and improvisation. We also present curriculum-based content (IEB and CAPS) using creative and innovative methods.
