Dala arts project was formed in 2012 by Theatre graduate who felt there was a need for theatre development in our community, Dala Arts Projects deals with theatre development for the youth. Dala arts project makes theatre plays and drama workshops base on social ills and leadership skills. Creating awareness on Teenage pregnancy, crime and poverty to alcohol abuse. To offer training and skills in drama and performance, music and song, dance and movement, design and fine arts as a collective and each discipline will seek to encourage rather than resist the process of change, to stretch rather than reinforce the boundaries that currently define theatre. Dala Arts Project is currently a Mentee of the ASSITEJ South Africa Theatre4Youth Mentorship Programme. This programme is supported by UNESCO’s International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD) and the UNESCO 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions.
