Join Mr Toad and his animal friends who live a wonderful life in the countryside around Toad Hall. Once you meet Mr Toad, you will never forget him. This production will run at National Children’s Theatre (NCT), 3 Junction Avenue, Parktown during school holidays from 20 June2017.

This production has been made possible by the last part of a grant of R2m from the National Lotteries Commission (NLC).

THE ADVENTURES OF MR TOAD is a delightful, upbeat version of Kenneth Grahame’s ever-popular The Wind in the Willows. The eccentric but likeable Toad, owner of the grand Toad Hall, has a problem with his latest craze. He is obsessed with motorcars, and ends up crashing them everywhere he goes! Despite the sincere efforts of his dear friends Badger, Rat and Mole, this reckless driving lands him in prison. Toad’s enemies, the weasels, couldn’t be happier to have him behind bars as they take over Toad Hall. Can Toad escape from jail and save his beloved home?

Stunning costumes, fantastic choreography and catchy feel-good numbers, including Hang Spring Cleaning, Let’s Jump Aboard and Weasels Reign, make this delightful production a perfect outing for the whole family.

The story has all the best ingredients - great characters, humour, lots of adventure, and a heartwarming message about the true value of friendship. This is the perfect time to introduce youngsters to one of Brittan’s best loved classic stories. So join us this school holiday to hear the whispers of the Wild Wood and feel the thrill of the open road!

The creative team includes Artistic Director: Francois Theron, Musical Director: Clint Lesch, Choreography: Jodie Davimes, Costume Design: Sarah Roberts, Set Design: Stan Knight and Lighting Design: Jane Gosnell.

A colourful, exciting, smash hit show for the whole family!
